Annie formed her own independent casting consultancy for Film and Television, Annie Murtagh-Monks and Associates in 1993.
Professional Collaborations
Annie held a position on the board of the WA Actors Centre in 1991. She was a member of the State Divisional committee of Actors’ Equity 1992 - 1994 and was invited to serve on the Peer Assessment Panel of the Dept. for the Arts - Theatre in 1992.
She was a member of one of the working parties for the Theatre Review in Perth; has been invited as a panel member on various Film Forums, Theatre Forums, AFI Events, and the International Critics Conference. In 1993 she was elected to the Board of Film & Television Institute in Perth - a position which she sadly had to stand down from after six months when she travelled to America to live for 12 months in 1994.
Annie was asked to serve as a judging panel member of the ‘Metropolis’ Film Festival Contest 1996, 1997 & 1998, WA Film and Video Festival 1997, and the WA Screen Awards each year since 1998.
Annie was asked to serve on the Training Industry Working Party of the Premier’s Taskforce into the Film & TV industry in 1999. Annie has also been an Industry Representative on the SODA advisory committee at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, ECU University, WA over the past 7 years and is currently an industry representative on WAAPA’s advisory committee assisting in the 2003/4 review of the Acting 3 year Diploma course and the Music Theatre 1 year Certificate course.
Annie has also been asked to act as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and Advisory Committee member for the new WA Screen Academy at Edith Cowan University. However, she feels her greatest creative achievement to date is in the raising of her three children..
